Enable Login Security for KIC (MC)

ISSUE

By default, the Import Connector (KIC) Message Connector monitoring and configuration interface can be accessed directly if the URL and port are known (for example, http://<servername>:25086). Customers may want to restrict access so that only authorized users can log in, preventing unauthorized access to incoming messages and configuration settings.

SOLUTION

To enable login security for the Message Connector:

1. Open the Message Connector Configuration tool.
2. Go to Advanced → Security Options.
3. Under Users, enable user access control and set passwords for the following roles:

• View user: Can view documents in Message Connector.
• Process user: Can view and manage documents (delete, reactivate, etc.). This account is also used by App to import documents.
• Admin user: Has full access, including remote configuration.

After this configuration, access to the monitoring and configuration interface will require a valid username and password.

Important: After setting a Process password, enter the same password in the Capture Plug-In under Connections > Edit Connection > Process password, for every connection. Without this the Plug-In cannot retrieve messages and no batches will be created.
